How to know when your jam has reached setting point: There are two methods:
1. Place a plate in the freezer. Drop a small amount of the jam on to the cold plate and leave for about a minute to cool down. Push it with your finger. If the setting point has been reached, the top will set and the jam will wrinkle when you push it. 2. Use a jam or sugar thermometer. Place the thermometer in the pan, centrally. Jam sets at 104 degrees C or 219 degrees F. |
