The best catapults use strong elastic rope (you can make one by stitching a canvas pouch on to two lengths of thick stretch rope, available from sailing shops). We love the fantastic Waterbomb catapult (from firebox, £14.95), a three-child catapult - two to hold the ends and one to pull the sling back and aim. This will send the eggs careering away, though make sure no humans or animals are within firing range. If you're in a safe place try using mammoth goose eggs; they make the most satisfying SPLAT when they land.
NB Just remember to shout 'fore!' and clear up the eggy debris afterwards. |
