This can be beautifully mucky - or not, depending on your catching skills! Everyone gets given their own raw egg, and has to go out into the garden or park and wrap it up in materials found outside naturally - grass, straw, twigs, leaves etc. The idea of the game is to pad a parcel around your egg to protect it so it doesn't break when you start playing rugby with it.
Get a group together and start tossing the eggs around (give each egg at least 20 or 30 tosses, depending on how good everyone is at catching).
Then everyone stops and opens their parcels one by one. It's fascinating to see whose egg has stayed intact!
Alternatively, older kids might like to try raw egg catching. They simply toss an uncooked egg around until it breaks in one unlucky person's hands. Deliciously yucky.
