The best pleasures are simple ones, and children from two and up will love hiding in piles of autumn leaves. You can play this in the woods or even in a municipal park before the leaf sweepers arrive…
In the park, ask your children to drag together lots of piles of fallen leaves in different places. Divide into two teams, and send the seeker team off to count to 200. Quickly hide the other team members in separate piles of leaves, covering their bodies, and placing a few leaves over their faces (provided they don’t mind). The seeker team has to find the hiders as quickly as they can. Take turns – hiding in leaves is an unusual but very enjoyable experience.
