This is an old family favourite and is incredibly fast fun. All you need is a cricket bat and tennis or beach ball. How to play:
The aim is to hit the batter's legs below the knee with the ball. One person stands in the middle with the bat held against their legs. The other players stand in a circle around at least 3m away. The players making up the circle throw the ball to try to hit the person in the centre below the knee. They can toss the ball to another player in a better position - and the game is fast and furious when players throw the ball quickly amongst themselves. Meanwhile, the batter in the middle must not turn around or move from their spot, but can defend their legs with the bat, reaching behind if that's where the attack is coming from. The player who throws the winning ball takes the next turn as batter. |
