This year we are going to Ireland to visit our aunty and uncle. My aunty makes the BEST Christmas cake ever. A few days before Christmas Day she lets us help decorate it, we also use marzipan. Mum and I always go into their garden to get some holly to put on top of the cake, while my sister and aunty make the little marzipan Christmas tree. After decorating the cake, it gets put into a cupboard, and my mum starts on some mince pies for Grandpa... |

We don't usually decorate our Christmas cake because we spend Christmas at our Gran's where she makes it. The kids eat it with yogurt or ice cream, but the adults eat it with cheese, which is a Yorkshire tradition. This year though we are spending Christmas at home, so we are going to decorate our cake with icing snowmen and Santas, as well as marzipan and silver balls. |
