Mmmm... I love teacakes! I can just imagine a piece of it in my hand all oozing with marshmallows...
The base of the cake looks nice, too. |

Wow, I am so impressed. You have risen to the challenge and surpassed it with your creation. It makes my mouth water to look at it - both the bumpy and smooth versions. THANK YOU so much for doing them. I hoped at most for a few suggestions, never expecting you to actually carry out the construction. If only "My word is your command" applied in every area of my life! I hope you aren't still struggling to eat it. It looks like something which should be tackled in close proximity to a warm flannel for mopping sticky contented faces.
When I contemplated what to do myself, I was most stuck with the idea of the biscuit layer. I have lots of recipes for biscuits, cookies, shortbread etc but nothing with the proper crisp texture of a Rich Tea. Alhtough these are one of the most ordinary biscuits you can buy, perhaps they are quite difficult to replicate at home. |
